Every strong nonprofit needs a steady foundation.

For years, I ran one. A nonprofit animal rescue focused on giving second chances to animals that had been neglected or mistreated. We gave them space to recover, the right care, and the consistency they needed to regain strength.

That same belief guides the work I do now.

At The Ledger House, I help nonprofit organizations build healthy, audit-ready financial systems that support their mission and give their leaders peace of mind. I specialize in grant compliance, restricted fund tracking, and day-to-day nonprofit bookkeeping, but my real goal is simple: to make sure the numbers support the mission, not distract from it.

When you’re stewarding public dollars and donor faith, the financial foundation matters. It’s not just about the books, it’s about protecting trust and sustaining impact.

You don’t need to do it alone. You don’t have to figure it out as you go. You need a partner who gets your world — someone who understands the pace, the pressure, and the passion of leading a mission-first organization.

I’m here to help.

    Carol Plybon

    FOUNDER

As a former nonprofit director, I understand the responsibility that comes with stewarding donor trust and public funds. I built The Ledger House to bring structure, clarity, and confidence to the financial side of mission-driven work.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on my ranch, riding my horses, and being outdoors. Most of my spare time is spent with family, and I value the quiet and balance that comes from both ranch life and time together.

    ACCOUNT MANAGER

Bookkeeping isn’t just about ledgers & spreadsheets, it’s about bringing clarity and confidence to the people behind the business. I take real joy in diving into complex books, spotting discrepancies, and organizing financial data into a clear, accurate picture.

Over the years, I’ve found the most fulfilling part of this work is supporting nonprofit leaders who are deeply passionate about their missions. I love creating order and structure so they can stay focused on the impact they’re making.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find me out on a trail with my husband and our dogs, or in the kitchen trying out a new recipe. These moments help me recharge and give me the energy and clarity I bring back into my work.
